Denise D’Rozario
Mindfulness Mentor
Denise has been a dedicated practitioner and student of mindfulness since 2017 and has certifications in mindfulness teaching and mentoring. Her practice includes daily formal and informal meditation, ongoing participation in mentorship groups, trainings and retreats; study of mindfulness in Buddhist and secular contexts, and evidence-based practices taught by several well-known teachers.
Denise discovered meditation and the power of presence during a time of personal grief and uncertainty in her life, and with each year of practice, she observed the transformative power that this had on her mind and heart – deepening her sense of connection to herself and others, and recognizing that irrespective of how life unfolds it is possible to be in a place of true peace and contentment and have the capacity for wise and caring response over-reactivity.
Over the past year, Denise has served as a mindfulness mentor and facilitator – focusing on mindfulness for caregivers using the RAIN practice. Denise has a master’s degree in public affairs and decades of experience in leadership and facilitator roles with people of varying ages, ethnicities, and social and professional backgrounds – from time spent in social impact work, on nonprofit boards, in a former corporate career, and as part of her long-time commitment to youth mentoring.
With the launch of Befriending Peace, Denise is committed to continuing to deepen her own practice while offering safe and welcoming small group spaces for anyone who is looking to explore the practice of mindfulness and meditation and cultivate more peace and connection in their day-to-day life.
